Oops- I did it again!

You know you are busy when you write your first blogspost of the year mid February.I apologize for the radio silence, everyone! I promise to be better!

But for now, let´s rewind:

January indeed has been packed with projects and dates. I am currently working on a new music service, which I plan to release towards end of June! I will tell you more about my secret endeavour end of March! So stay tuned!

I have also been working on 5 new songs in January. Find a sneak peak of “over you” here. I´d love to hear your thoughts on it! So please let me know what you think!

One of my highlights so far though, has been my first Songslam appearance (ever!) last Thursday at Theater Drehleier in Munich. The show, which is being organized by Munich Song Connection, is a monthly format and features 8 artists per night. Each artist is granted 6 minutes to present a little set of original music or special version cover songs. Thereafter the audience gets to vote their favorite artists. The top two may present 2 more songs each, before the winner of the night is being nominated.

Despite the fact that I do not like the “competition” concept, which in my opinion doesn´t make sense in art (but I bet the audience enjoys it), I love how well the show was being organized, from their skilled audio technician, to the way the presenters introduced each act and the way things were handled backstage. Needless to say, the location was great, too! Who doest like an old theater??

In case you are curious which songs I played, here´s the answer:

I started with Mountain, and added a speed version of Fool. And yes, I managed to fit both songs into my 6 minutes set and I loved every second of it!

This was my second “open mic” performance so far and it was a positive experience!

As a result, I plan to register for more “open mic” events within the next months! I will publish dates here, as soon as I know more.

Well, time to release you!

Enjoy your Sunday, Sunday and come back soon!

Love,

Katie
